Mixed Elements has implemented several new policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff.
Wellness Check + Masks
Upon arrival for your service, you will be required to answer a series of COVID-19 related questions and have your temperature taken and recorded. All staff members temperatures will be taken daily. Anyone experiencing a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be asked to reschedule. Masks are required for all staff members and clients at all times within the salon. Please bring a mask that hooks behind the ears (not behind the head). A disposable masks is recommended, especially for chemcial services. Disposable masks will be available for $3.00 at the front desk (limit one per client).
While you and your provider will be in close promimity, please keep 6' of distance between you and other clients and providers. Dividers have been placed between all shampoo chairs, all chemical applicaion and processing chairs as well as some styling chairs. The nail area also features dividers between client chairs as well as dividers between clients and technicians for both manicures and pedicures. We also have a facial divider for our spa room for facials. Weather permitting, outdoor seating is available for waiting and processing.
Curb Side Pick Up
Curb side pick up is available! Please call us to place your order for retail products or gift certificates. We will prepare your order and process your payment over the phone. Simply pull up, call us to let us know you've arrived and we'll deliver your items directly to your car - no contact involved!
The salon has been deep cleaned and sanitized,including having the HVAC system treated. Mixed Elements has always used an EPA certified hospital grade, broad-spectrum disinfectant. This is a bactericidal, fungicide, and virucidal cleaner used on all surfaces in between each client. All staff has become BARBICIDE® certified, which is known worldwide as the ultimate product for EPA registered disinfection in salons. This solution is used by our stylists to disinfect their tools and implements.
Mixed Elements must operate by appointment only. Please call the salon to schedule (443) 292 - 4329. Only those individuals receiving services will be permitted in the salon. Exceptions will be made if a minor is receiving a service or if a client requires the assistance of a caregiver.
Refreshments + Belongings
No beverages will be offered at this time. All magazines have been removed. No food or beverages will be permitted inside the salon, but you may enjoy these items in our outdoor waiting area. Please limit your personal belongings to only what is absolutely necessary. Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.
Due to these policies, our typical systems are taking longer than normal. We are scheduling cleaning time between each appointment, which limits the number of clients we can see per day. We are asking screening questions and explaining policies during our confirmation calls, which may increase your hold time. Our check-in and check-out processes have become more complex. We appreciate your patience as we adjust to our new normal and get familiar with these procedures.
Thank you for choosing Mixed Elements for your beauty services! In order to ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling as far in advance as possible for the greatest availability. We do welcome walk-in appointments but availability is limited. To accommodate your appointment a credit card may be required at the time of booking. We hold this information as part of our cancelation policies and only make necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled service. Details of our cancelation policy are provided below.
New Clients: We look forward to welcoming you on your first visit! We kindly ask all new clients to arrive 10 minutes prior to their first appointment. This ensures time to fill out our new client paperwork and for you to get familiar with our facility.
Location: Mixed Elements is located at the intersection of Routes 3, 424 and Conway Road inside the Crofton Princess Center. We sit on the same side of the building as the Blue Dolphin Seafood Restaurant's Banquet facility. We do not face Route 3.
Payment: We accept aall maajor credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept cash and checks. We reserve the right to limit check amounts during first visits. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee.
Reminders: Our front desk team will call to remind you of your appointment the day prior for Tuesday through Saturday appointments and on Saturday for Monday's appointments, except for holidays. We also offer email and text message confirmations which are sent 48 hours prior to your appointment. You can enroll in either or both option with our front desk.

Ask the front desk for some of our Referral Cards. Pass these out to your friends & family. They'll receive $10 off their first service with us, and you'll receive $10 towards your next service!
That's our small way of saying thanks for your referral. There is no limit to how many you can redeem, so feel free to share with neighbors, co-workers, teachers, sitters or anyone looking for beauty services!
When running late, please inform the salon as soon as possible. In order to prevent a delay of servicing our next client, we may need to reschedule your appointment or alter the services scheduled. Please note a cancellation fee may apply.
Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, our providers miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services.
We require a minimum of 24 hours notice in the event you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to cancel or reschedule your appointment within 24 hours will result in a charge of 50% of reserved appointments. No shows will be charged 100% of reserved appointments.
Bridal parties and other group bookings require a minimum of 72 hours notice of a cancellation or reschedule. A deposit will be required at time of scheduling.
We understand that accidents happen, people get sick and emergencies occur. We will do our best to accomodate these rare occasions with grace. However, we do record these occurances as to prevent abuse of the policy. Repetitive violations will result in cancellation fees, deposits on services and/or same day appointment scheduling only.
Give the gift of Mixed Elements to your family and friends! Gift certificates are available in any denomination.
Mixed Elements gift certificates expire 5 years from date of purchase. Gift certificates can be purchased in store or over the phone and can be mailed or emailed to you or directly to your recipient.
All gift certificates are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged or transferred.
Gratuity is always left to the discretion of our clients. A suggested guideline is 15-20% of your service.
For your convience, we are able to add gratuity on to transactions paid with a debit card, cash or check. On transactions paid with a credit card, gratuity may be left in cash only.
For the safety of your child, and the enjoyment of others, no children are allowed in the spa area unless they are receiving a service. Any minor children receiving spa services, must be accompanied by an adult. In addition, please ensure that your child can contribute to our stress-free environment in the salon area. Children may not be left unattended in the reception area.
Retail Purchases: Mixed Elements wants to ensure you love our products as much as we do! We accept all unused product returns within 7 days for a full refund. We accept unused or used product returns within 14 days for exchange or product credit only. All boutique items and sale products are final sale and not eligible for return.
Service Guarantee: Mixed Elements guarantees you will love your service. If you are not completely satisfied, please contact us within 7 days for a complimentary correction. No monetary refunds will be given for services.
What is diversion? Diversion is the unauthroized selling of professional products. Professional products are sold only to authorized salons and retailers. Diverted products are often old, diluted, expired or counterfeit. They may be harmful to use and can cause irritation or infection. Diverted products are often slightly more expensive in unauthorized locations, such as grocery stores and pharmacies.
So, why should you purchase your products from Mixed Elements? We guarantee all of our products to be authentic, new and untampered with. Using professional haircare products ensures the longevity of chemical services and integrity of your hair. We do not guarantee select services, especially Keratin treatments, without using the proper homecare. And, you are helping to supporting our stylists earn educational opportunities!
