Welcome to Mixed Elements, a contemporary intimate salon, spa and boutique whose focus lies on you, the client. In a casual, friendly atmosphere, we bring you a touch of tropical elegance through both services and décor.

Founded as an accessory boutique, Mixed Elements relocated and expanded to include a full service hair salon and spa in January 2009. Owned by Sandy Barone, a local hairstylist for over 40 years, Mixed Elements brings you the conveniences of a large, luxury salon while providing personalized customer service in a friendly, hometown atmosphere.

At Mixed Elements, we're not just a salon, we're a family and thats evident when you walk through our doors. Our talent is impeccable, the products we use and recommend are of the highest quality and we aim to exceed your expectations during each and every visit. Our Policies

While some of the policies we have implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic have relaxed, we are still exercising caution to provide a safe, healthy environment for your services. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our front desk team.


Wellness Check
Upon arrival for your service, you will be asked a series of COVID-19 related questions. Please do not come into the salon if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, have recently been exposed to COVID-19 or are awaiting test results.

Masks
Our providers will happily wear a mask during your serivce if you prefer, just ask!

Curb Side Pick Up
Curb side pick up is available! Please call us to place your order for retail products. We will prepare your order and process your payment over the phone. Simply pull up, call us to let us know you've arrived and we'll deliver your items directly to your car - no contact involved!

Sanitization
Mixed Elements has always used an EPA certified hospital grade, broad-spectrum disinfectant. This is a bactericidal, fungicide, and virucidal cleaner used by all providers throughout the salon. We believe santitation is imperative in a salon and spa, pandemic or not!

Guests
We are still encouraging that individuals receiving services do not bring guests to accompany them within the salon. Exceptions if a minor is receiving a service or if a client requires the assistance of a caregiver.

Refreshments
Refreshments and magazines are back! Please also feel free to bring in your own.


Appointments:
Thank you for choosing Mixed Elements for your beauty services! In order to ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, we recommend scheduling as far in advance as possible for the greatest availability. We do welcome walk-in appointments but availability is limited.

Guarantee:
To schedule your appointment a credit card is required at the time of booking. While your card will not be charged at the time of scheduling, our system holds this information as part of our cancelation policies and only makes necessary charges to your account on the date of your scheduled service in the event of a late cancellation or no-show. Details of our cancelation policy are provided below.

Forms:
We ask for an email address on file so that we can send any relevant forms to be filled out prior to your appointment. If you don't have an email address, you may be asked to arrive early to your appointment to fill out the forms on our iPad.

New Clients:
We look forward to welcoming you on your first visit! We kindly ask all new clients to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to their first appointment to get familiar with our facility.

Location:
Mixed Elements is located at the intersection of Routes 3, 424 and Conway Road inside the Crofton Princess Center. We sit on the same side of the building as the Blue Dolphin Seafood Restaurant's Banquet facility. We do not face Route 3.

Payment:
We accept all maajor credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also accept cash and checks. We reserve the right to limit check amounts during first visits. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee.

Reminders:
Our front desk team will call to remind you of your appointment the day prior for Wednesday through Saturday appointments and on Saturday for Tuesday appointments, except for holidays. We also offer email and text message confirmations which are sent 48 hours prior to your appointment. You can enroll in either or both options with our front desk.

The greatest compliment we receive is when you tell your friends & family about us!

Ask the front desk for some of our Referral Cards. Pass these out to your friends & family. They'll receive $10 off their first service with us, and you'll receive $10 towards your next service!

That's our small way of saying thanks for your referral. There is no limit to how many you can redeem, so feel free to share with neighbors, co-workers, teachers, sitters or anyone looking for beauty services!

When running late, please inform the salon as soon as possible. In order to prevent a delay of servicing our next client, we may need to reschedule your appointment or alter the services scheduled. Please note a cancellation fee will apply.

Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, our providers miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services.

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice in the event you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to cancel or reschedule your appointment within 24 hours will result in a charge of 50% of reserved appointments. No shows will be charged 100% of reserved appointments.

Bridal parties and other group bookings require a minimum of 72 hours notice of a cancellation or reschedule. A non-refundable deposit will be required at time of scheduling.

We understand that accidents happen, people get sick and emergencies occur. We will do our best to accomodate these rare occasions with grace. However, we do record these occurances as to prevent abuse of the policy. Repetitive violations will result in cancellation fees and/or same day appointment scheduling only.

Give the gift of Mixed Elements to your family and friends! Gift certificates are available in any denomination.

Mixed Elements gift certificates expire 5 years from date of purchase. Gift certificates can be purchased in store, online or over the phone and can be mailed or emailed to you or directly to your recipient.

All gift certificates are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged or transferred.

Gratuity is always left to the discretion of our clients. A suggested guideline is 15-20% of your service.

For your convience, we have partnered with Tippy for ease in leaving gratuity! Using our Tippy kiosk, you can leave a tip for any of our providers with a valid debit or credit card. A small surcharge applies. You may also leave cash gratuity with the front desk or your provider.

For the safety of your child, and the enjoyment of others, no children are allowed in service areas unless they are receiving a service. Any minor children receiving services, must be accompanied by an adult. In addition, please ensure that your child can contribute to our stress-free environment in the salon. Children may not be left unattended in the reception area.

Retail Purchases:
Mixed Elements wants to ensure you love our products as much as we do! We accept all unused product returns within 7 days for a full refund. We accept unused or used product returns within 14 days for exchange or product credit only. All boutique items and sale products are final sale and not eligible for return.

Service Guarantee:
Mixed Elements guarantees you will love your service. If you are not completely satisfied, please contact us within 7 days for a complimentary correction. No monetary refunds will be given for services.

What is diversion?
Diversion is the unauthroized selling of professional products. Professional products are sold only to authorized salons and retailers. Diverted products are often old, diluted, expired or counterfeit. They may be harmful to use and can cause irritation or infection. Diverted products are often slightly more expensive in unauthorized locations, such as grocery stores and pharmacies.

So, why should you purchase your products from Mixed Elements?
We guarantee all of our products to be authentic, new and untampered with. Using professional haircare products ensures the longevity of chemical services and integrity of your hair. We do not guarantee select services, especially Keratin treatments, without using the proper homecare. And, you are helping to supporting our stylists earn educational opportunities!
